The busy, bustling city of London! London offers quite a few interesting things to see. From museums to historic architecture, there is plenty to do. It’s very easy to get around on the tube, but London walkability is also a big plus.

You will need a passport that is valid beyond your planned date of departure.

Packing Necessities - Make sure to bring good walking shoes! The public transportation system is very good. You can get to almost anywhere using the tube. Also, don't forget to bring a phone charger compatible with European outlets, which you can conveniently order—just tap the link.

Getting Around

As mentioned, London has an excellent transportation system. Just be aware that during the summer, the transportation can get a bit crowded during tourist season. If you are not going to be there long and want to see a lot of the highlights, a hop-on, hop-off bus tour is a good idea. To me, the best thing is to just use the underground to get where you want to go. You can also rent a car at the airport. And there is always Uber and Lyft.

Things to do

So London has many cool things to see and do. To get a nice overview of the city, the London Eye is great, but my recommendation is to go to the Shard.

There are plenty of fine restaurants and things to see, but I say, once there, go to The View from the Shard on floors 68, 69, and 70. There you will have great views of the city that you can take in at your leisure, and while there you can also enjoy some gelato, a good drink, or maybe even live music. Seeing Buckingham Palace is great for you Anglophiles, but what my family really enjoyed was The Tower of London. Also, you Peter Pan fans should go to Kensington Gardens to see his famous statue. Check out the British Museum if you are a fan of history, and if you are a fan of fictional history and love Sherlock Holmes, then you must go to Baker Street and see the Sherlock Holmes Museum.
