Paris, France

Ah, Paris!  The city of romance, known for such Architectural wonders as the Eiffel Tower, and the Arc de Triomphe.  Paris is a busy, bustling city with an underground transportation system for getting around.  There is lots to see and do.  The city is divided up into 17 Arrondissements, each distinct in their own way.  The 1st and 2nd Arrondissements, along with the 3rd and 4th, are now combined into a new administrative district called Paris Central.

 Documentation

You will need a Passport that is valid beyond your planned date of departure.  Check Travel.state.gov for current Covid Restrictions.

Packing Necessities - Make sure to bring good walking shoes!  The public transportation system is very good, you can get to almost anywhere using the underground.  Also don't forget to bring a phone charger compatible with European outlets.

Getting Around

As mentioned, Paris has a very good transportation system.  Just be aware during the summer the transportation gets very crowded during tourist season.  If you are not going to be there long and want to see a lot of the highlights, a hop-on, hop-off, bus tour is a good idea.   If you want to really experience the feel and romance of Paris, to me there is nothing better than just walking through the city.  You can also rent a car at the airport.  And as always there is always Uber and Lyft.

Things to do

There is much to see and do in Paris.  The Louvre museum house many great artworks, including the Mona Lisa.  Going the Eiffel Tower and viewing the city is great, I especially love it at night.  There are so many things to do, it is impossible to list them all.  If you love architecture just going to places like Notre Dame (even after the fire) will be exciting.

Our Favorites

The Eiffel Tower - As mentioned above, the Eiffel Tower at night is a must see.  The lights on the tower and the view of the city lights is just beautiful.

The Choco - Story Museum - If you love Chocolate, this is a great fun little museum to visit.  You can buy many cute and tasty souvenirs at the gift shop and they have free samples!

The Louvre Museum - The museum itself is a beautiful acrchitectural masterpiece before even going inside.  The Louvre houses the famous Mona Lisa and other famous works of art.  It can get very crowded during the summer tourist season, so if you are there at that time, be prepared to wait in line.

While in Paris, be sure to dine at one of the many cafe's.  Dine outdoors and feel like a true Parisian.

All in all Paris is a wonderful place to visit.
